Based on a novella by Heinrich von Kleist, this made-for-TV drama follows the story of Jeronimo (Victor Alcazar), a commoner who falls in love with Josefa (Julia Pena), a wealthy Chilean heiress he's tutoring. But when their affair is exposed, Josefa is banished to a convent. A series of tragic events unfolds, culminating in a massive earthquake -- which just might be fate intervening on the lovers' behalf.
